Eccentric Half Ball Valve

Eccentric Half Ball Valve
The wonderful function of
Eccentric half ball valve
The eccentric half ball valve utilizes an eccentric valve body, eccentric sphere and valve seat. When the valve stem rotates, it automatically centers on a common trajectory. During the closing process, it becomes tighter and tighter, and achieves a good sealing effect. The ball and valve seat of the valve are completely detached, eliminating the wear of the sealing ring and overcoming the problem of constant wear between the traditional ball valve seat and the sealing surface of the ball. Non metallic elastic materials are embedded in the metal seat, and the metal surface of the valve seat is well protected. The eccentric half ball valve is particularly suitable for media such as steel, aluminum, fibers, small solid particles, pulp, coal ash, petroleum gas, etc.

Why Choose Lipin's Eccentric Half Ball Valve

The focus of the eccentric half ball valve is on eccentricity. There is a dimensional deviation between the centerline of the valve shaft and the hemisphere. This eccentricity results in a short contact between the ball core and the valve seat, which only presents at the moment of closing and opening the valve. This valve effectively prevents medium blockage inside the body, is suitable for media containing fibers and particles. Moreover, it reduces wear on the valve core and valve seat, and extends the valve service life.
  • Bidirectional sealing
Bidirectional sealing: The floating valve seat seals better with higher pressure under the push of the medium. Spherical sealing and cushion structure, capable of withstanding high pressure and automatic compensation.
  • Many possibilities for material selection
Lipin's raw materials are rich and diverse, including carbon steel, Inconel, and Monel, which have excellent characteristics of corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance.
  • Full field application
Lipin's eccentric half ball valve is not only used in oil and chemical industry, gas industry, but also in slurry industry and power industry.

Key Components of Eccentric Half Ball Valves:

The eccentric half ball valve mainly consists of the following six parts. This component ensures that the eccentric half ball valve remains efficient and stable during operation and maintains a zero leakage record.
  • Valve Body
    Guides the flow of media.
  • Sphere
The medium passes through or is intercepted by the sphere.
  • Valve stem
Drives the ball to open and close quickly through 90° rotation.
  • Valve seat
Contact with the ball to form a seal.
  • Sealing surface
    Soft seal and metal seal.
  • Actuator
The movement of a valve that controls the valve stem.
  • Advantages of

    Eccentric Half Ball Valves

    • 01
      Lightweight switch
Due to the principle of eccentricity, the ball and valve seat are completely detached when opened, without any contact. The opening and closing torque is small, and the opening and closing can be completed by turning 90 degrees, making the operation easy.
    • 02
      The eccentric structure of
The eccentric structure of the sealing surface enables the spherical surface to automatically compensate for wear, maintain the sealing performance of the valve, and have a long service life.
    • 03
Large flow area without flow resistance
This is because the ball is hidden in the valve chamber after opening, and there is no flow resistance in the DC channel. The flow channel is unobstructed and there will be no accumulation of dust or jamming, and the pressure loss is small. The medium will not deposit in the valve chamber.
    • 04
      The structure that matches
The structure that matches the valve seat design with the valve body design is very effective in preventing phenomena such as ball and valve seat jamming and valve seat detachment.
    • 05
      Automatic cleaning function
The edge of the ball crown of the hard sealed eccentric hemispherical valve adopts a blade shape, which can not only scrape off dirt on the valve seat, but also cut off debris.

Why Choose Eccentric Half Ball Valves?

The eccentric half ball valve has reliable sealing effect, instantaneous detachment, small torque, and long service life. It can be applied in harsh working conditions for conveying granular media. The structural principle is that the centerline of the hemisphere is offset from the centerline of the valve stem. When the valve is opened and closed, the hemisphere has a gradual detachment and gradual compression effect relative to the valve seat surface, thereby reducing mechanical wear and abrasion between the valve seat and hemisphere during opening and closing, and improving the service life.

About Lipin Eccentric Half Ball Valve

    • Valve body type:
      Ball
    • Valve body material:
Cast WCB carbon steel (general application), forged A105 carbon steel (general application), 304/316 stainless steel, alloy (corrosion resistance, extreme conditions), etc.
    • Valve stem material:
When the valve body material is ordinary carbon steel, the valve stem material is usually CR13 series martensitic stainless steel (American standard 410 and 420 stainless steel materials) or higher-grade austenitic stainless steel materials. When the valve body material is stainless steel, the valve stem material is usually austenitic stainless steel (American standard SS304, SS316) with a grade no lower than the valve body material and a higher grade corrosion-resistant alloy material (Hastelloy, Monel, Inconel alloy) etc.

The valve stem material is basically the same as the valve ball, plus carbon steel electroplating ENP anti-corrosion material, unless there are special requirements.
    • Seat material:
The hard-sealed metal valve seat and fixed soft-sealed valve seat support ring of the ball valve should be made of the same material as the ball.
    • Seat sealing surface material:
The valve seat material is basically the same material as the ball, except for special requirements.
    • Pressure level:
